Welcome

Cut your AI invoice without cutting your AI use.

Shrink the number. Shape the coaching. See the shift.

Your AI invoice keeps growing. New habits will bring it down.

ReduceTokenCosts.com supports bringing AI spend under control: CFOs, CAOs, controllers, department heads, and others. Your team will build daily habits, in a couple of minutes a day, that shrink the invoice.

If you want the coaching personalized around your company’s specific cost pressures, add the Executive Priority Track. If you want your team to have a 24-hour human-reviewed question channel for AI usage questions as they come up, add Helpdesk tickets.

The pattern on your P&L

Are you experiencing:

  • AI spend challenges to decipher ROI or which team spent what, across models and projects.
  • The line item grew 3 to 5x in twelve months. And the productivity story defending it is anecdotal and unmeasured.
  • You already tried “use the cheaper model.” Usage and the bills went up.
  • Procurement negotiated a better token rate. Same result. The savings got consumed, not banked.
  • Departments are quietly running their own AI subscriptions on personal cards or expense reports.

This is the pattern across mid-market companies right now.

Why price wars won’t help

There’s talk about model providers dropping token prices, “race to the bottom” pricing, and per-million-token comparisons. Finance leaders read this and hope the market will solve their overspend problem.

The market will not. Here is the mechanic:

Cheaper tokens do not reduce consumption. They give your team permission to spend more tokens for the same money.

When a model gets 50% cheaper, the teams using it do not send 50% fewer prompts and pocket the savings. They run longer chains, retry more variations, and explore things they would have skipped at the old price. The unit cost drops. The invoice grows. The psychological signal is “AI got cheaper, use more of it.”

The lever that moves the number

What changes next month’s invoice is what your team does every time they open an AI model. Habits are the lever. Most AI waste comes from ordinary, repeated habits:

  • Vague prompts that trigger three or four rounds of clarification instead of one clean pass.
  • Retyping the brand voice, policy, or client context repeatedly instead of loading it once.
  • Defaulting to an expensive model for a one-line email edit.
  • Running five thin prompts where one loaded prompt would have finished the work.
  • Re-generating from scratch instead of reusing a template that already worked.

These habits are the drivers of your spend. Change them and the invoice changes. That is the thesis.

Why habits, and why now

Two reasons leaders care about habits framing:

Habits create immediate action. A daily habit message coaches a specific thing to try in the next task they apply. The spend on that prompt is different that day, and the invoice moves in the direction you want.

Habits compound. The security industry proved this. Small, frequent phishing-awareness reinforcement drove click rates down 86% over twelve months of daily nudges (FutureCISO). 2-Factor authentication is now a standard. We are applying the same behavior-change mechanic to AI cost and productivity, and we see the same shape of curve. Slow at first, then a compounding change that shows up on the invoice by month two or three.

Explore, Practice, Apply

Our program is a partnership with People, AI, and Data, in that order.

  • Explore. A habit is introduced. The team member interprets and understands the concept.
  • Practice. They use it in multiple familiar contexts to build fluency.
  • Apply. They implement it fluently across different types of work.

A habit can be Apply-level in one context and Explore-level in another. A marketer who loads their brief when writing campaign copy might forget it when writing an internal HR memo.

Individual team members see personal progress. Leadership sees the aggregate direction and record of adjustments.

For finance and operations leaders who want more

The Executive Priority Track shapes the coaching around your specific cost pressures. You tell us what matters this month, and we adjust the sequencing and content going to your team.

Helpdesk Tickets give your team a 24-hour human-reviewed question channel for their AI usage questions as they come up in real work. You do not need to submit priorities; the team drives the exchange with the questions they are already asking.

All Options share a design principle: we do not read your books, and we do not touch your finance systems. The Track shapes coaching around priorities you tell us about. The Helpdesk tickets respond to questions your team messages the keyword QUESTION. Nothing gets pulled from your ERP, accounting software, or actual AI spend data.

The Executive Priority Track Option

The Executive Priority Track (Track) is a company or group-level Option for buyers who want personalized coaching. You know your company best. The Track gives us the direction to shape coaching around your priorities.

Name your own priorities. Once a month, on or before the 25th, you submit three to five priorities (organization, industry sector, or AI models) through a shared form. Those priorities shape the coaching messages your participants receive across the following month, starting on the 1st. Examples that have come up in early conversations:

  • Focus on habits that correlate with improving ROI
  • Reduce vendor sprawl across departments before next quarter’s contract renewals
  • Cut duplicate Copilot and ChatGPT subscriptions across marketing and sales
  • Get marketing off the highest-tier model for routine work like subject-line drafts

No other company sees your priorities; they are held in a separate database (schematics are provided).

What we do with your priorities. We turn each priority into a set of SMS, email, or WhatsApp coaching messages that go to your participants only. The work-based learning design (question sequencing, timing, reinforcement pattern) is ours. Your priorities and any product names or internal terms stay private within your team.

A Monthly Manager Update goes to those running the day-to-day. It arrives as an Excel file on the 5th of the following month with a short cover letter and an invitation for interpretation. This is decision-making data to update messaging priorities for the month ahead.

A quarterly Executive Brief arrives as a concise document on the 10th of the month following each quarter (April 10, July 10, October 10, January 10) with three sections::

  • What shifted this quarter. The narrative arc of the three months. Priorities set, addressed, measurable movement.
  • Participation and reach. Who engaged, at what depth, and where the engagement patterns show strength or signal where support is needed.
  • Where the investment earned its place. The value story. What the Track produced this quarter.

When the Track fits. You have a director-level or front-line supervisor who runs the day-to-day and will use monthly data to shape programming. You have an executive leader who funds the work and looks for a quarterly view. You want the coaching aligned to specific cost pressures, an industry-specific content library, or ROI habits progress. The Track is additive to what your team is already doing. It does not require policy changes, software rollout, or reorganization. It layers on the workflow you already run.

Learning Circle (standalone team/project/product) Option

Circles are collaborative groups of 2 to 5 people, developing AI habits together. Circle members complete an onboarding form. We co-design their responses into one Circle persona with a shared tone, language, pacing, ambition, and goals.

Each Circle receives a monthly Challenge on the 1st · a hands-on deliverable the Circle produces together (for example, a dashboard, workflow, customer-facing tool, or internal automation). Tuesday and Thursday Circle texts throughout the month support that Challenge · validating an idea the Circle is testing, dropping a clue the Circle needs, or recommending an approach the Circle can try.

Helpdesk Tickets

Helpdesk Tickets is a question channel alongside daily coaching. A team member messages the QUESTION followed by a question. Every question gets a human-reviewed reply within 24 hours, with the reviewer’s initials on every message for a follow-up.

Monthly Helpdesk rollup. On the 5th of the following month you receive an email summary of the Helpdesk activity for your team. The rollup aggregates question themes across the month, patterns, and what shifted after the answers landed.

When the Helpdesk fits. You want a channel for the questions your team is asking, specific to their workflow. You want to review the shape of AI usage questions in your organization.

Additional or Branded Channel Option

Customized options include sending to Slack, Teams, or a different channel. And branding with the company logo and your messaging (set up in a separate database for proprietary control).

Combining Options

The Executive Priority Track shapes what your team receives; the Helpdesk answers what your team asks.
